We believe you love analytics as much as we do. Putting 3D tour metrics in Google Analytics can give you a clear picture of how people interact with your 3D tours and enable you to measure the success of your content marketing.
Introduction
Cupix automatically sends user’s events on the Web Player to up to two Google Analytics accounts you set in the Settings > Current Workspace, and you can analyze the basic 3D tour metrics as explained below.
Note:
You can set one Google Analytics account for yourself and the other for your client
Tip:
Events are grouped into the three levels in the Google Analytics: the event category, the event action, and the event label. Refer to this Analytics Help article for more details.
Play Rate
The play rate (the percentage of the Web Player visitors who actually clicked Play button) can be easily measured by the Play event category. When the Auto Loading option is off in the Customize Player menu, the click event action will be sent as visitors click the play icon on the splash screen. If the Auto Loading option is switched on, the auto event action will be sent instead.
Engagement
Engagement category shows you how much of your 3D tours they explored. There are six engagement levels which are expressed as the percentage of
The area a visitor explored /Total space area x 100
- Less than 25% explored
- 25% explored
- 50% explored
- 75% explored
- 100% explored
Social Sharing
All toolbar icon click events are also available in the Google Analytics, and so you can track Share icon click if you want to measure the social share metric. Facebook, Twitter, or Linkedin sub-menu selection can be identified by the event labels.
CTR (Click-Through Rate) or Conversion Rate
CTR is the percentage of viewers that click on whatever CTA (Call-to-Action) you have designed in your 3D tours. For instance, you can track pushpin clicks, hotspot clicks, pano changes (virtual walk-through), highlight thumbnail clicks, and so on.
The conversion rate is the percentage of viewers who complete higher level objectives, referred to as goals, you have designed in a 3D tour or in your web page where a 3D tour is embedded. The Google Analytics provides a rich feature set to define goals and track the conversion rate. Please see this Analytics Help article to learn more.
How to get started
Get your Google Analytics tracking ID
If you don’t already have a Google Analytics account, you can quickly create one for free on the Google Analytics website. Please read this Analytics Help article for more details.
Set Google Analytics IDs in the Settings menu
Enable Google Analytics option for each 3D tour
Make sure you have switched the Enable Google Analytics option on in the Customize Player menu which enables the Google Analytics tracking.
Now you are all set. You can immediately check the Google Analytics' Real-Time report to see how many people are accessing your 3D tours.
Keep in mind:
Standard Google Analytics accounts will result in the reports being refreshed only once a day. This can delay updates to reports and metrics for up to two days.
