What formats and resolutions do you support?

1080 or 4K?

Do you have a sample to gauge quality for a property stop with only video?

  • 3K or 5K?

I'd be using a Go Pro Fusion.

    Thank you!

  • Hi, Jay.

We support both 3K and 5K. The resolution of videos doesn't matter to make a 3D virtual tour. Just make sure that your video footages are properly stitched with a width-height ratio of 2:1. We'll share some sample tours with you soon.

  • 2 Other ?s:

    • Does the Video create a more detailed "Doll house"?
    • Is it better to cover more areas of a property to achieve a more gapless doll house ?

Idea get full coverage of the space with video and shoot select stills for certain rooms.

    Look forward to the samples.

    Best,

    Jay

  • Hello Jay,

First of all, as you can see from the photo attached, taking more photos will help you get much better results.

That said, using a video for creating an accurate 3D model, or a dollhouse view, does make sense, because it will be made of frames extracted from the video for every second, for instance, so the number should be more than enough.

Meanwhile, covering more areas also helps. If your set of photos doesn't cover every single corner of the house, on the contrary, then some part of the 3D model will be generated based on the calculation of the adjacent parts. So in some cases results may not be as accurate. The photo attached, again, can be a good example.

If you have other questions, please let us know.

  • Thanks for that image diagram and resulting dollhouse detailed results.

For video would I need to follow the same 21 point path to achieve that detail level?

It appears you'd want to cover all surface areas or is there a different formula to properly covering the entire area for a detailed mesh?

  • Hello Jay

The diagram was only for explaining to you that the number of photos will affect your results. You can create your own pattern or path, but just try to make sure that your set of photos covers every corner of a room if you want to have a better quality.

And when it comes to taking videos, please remember below. And as for the path, it's better to carefully plan before start walking and make sure your steps don't overlap or stop while shooting.

    • Rules of Taking Videos

These simple rules lead you a successful 3D tour with improved efficiency in capturing the scene.

                1. Keep your head up and walk slowly.

                2. Do not stop walking while recording videos.

                3. Try to keep the camera steady.

                4. Slow down near doorways and narrow hallways.

                5. Don’t break the camera on the door frame.
